The Los Angeles Chargers relied on their defense to push themto the finish line in Sunday's wild-card matchup with the Ravens, and the unitresponded with a forced fumble to clinch a 23-17 victory.

Los Angeles built a 20-point lead in the fourth quarter, but Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson led Valtteri Filppula Jersey two quick scoring drives to tighten the game late. A stop by the Ravens gave Jackson the ball with 45 seconds to work with and a chance to orchestrate a game-winning drive. Instead, Chargers linebackerUchenna Nwosu stripped Jackson, clinching LA's first divisional round appearance since 2013.

Los Angeles quarterback Philip Rivers was 22-of-32 pa sing for 160 yards, and running back Melvin Ingram fought through a leg injury to rush for the Chargers' only score of the contest. Jackson threw for 194 yards and rushed for 54, though he did most of his damage during the fourth quarter.

The Chargers will face the New England Patriots next weekend in the divisional round.
