Yesterday we reached out to the developers from haoxiuyun's blog

Runelite HD designer "117" posted to RuneScape Gold Reddit Tuesday, sharing the message that he received from Jagex that was later confirmed by Jagex on its own blog article. Runelite HD operates as a plugin which will give significant visual enhancements to the foundation game Runescape and can be seen on 117's Twitter. Moderator 117 said they've spent around 2000 hours over the past two years developing Runelite HD.

"Yesterday we reached out to the developers of well-known HD projects and requested the developers to stop developing their projects because it is a subject we are currently investigating directly," Jagex stated. Jagex wrote to 117 that it was working on the development of an HD Version of Old School Runescape was "still quite early in its exploration stage" however "very active."

"Naturally this means the fan-led initiative that attempts to alter the look of Old School RuneScape looks is against our own plans," Jagex wrote to 117. "We consider it vital that there's a consistency in the manner that Old School appears as a result, so we're trying to be sure that our changes to the official version will be the only ones to be made available.

It is our hope that the announcement is that Jagex and the Old School team are tackling this project in earnest is something that you are excited about even though it may require us to insist that you close down your personal website."

117 claimed that they would offer Jagex an alternative which was to remove their project when Jagex had released their own version, and also giving Jagex "collaborative oversight" over Buy RS Gold Runelite HD's visual style.
