The recently released Diablo Immortal has shown, making an earlier PC-based ARPG accessible to mobile may be an uphill task D2R Items. It's hard to say the likelihood that Torchlight Infinite will succeed on that aspect but it's clear that XD's version on the series is looking to draw in both new players as well as veteran fans from the franchise. This game will take place 200 years after Torchlight II The game will have familiar abilities, classes, and environments to fans of the series, but there are plenty of new characters and systems for fans to experience.

Though Torchlight Infinite is being made to be mobile-friendly the game will also be released on PC. In an interview via email with GameSpot, Producer Liu Heng said Torchlight Infinite will allow for cross-progression.

Players can connect their accounts as well as switch between mobile and PC without losing their progress. It will feature a few additional upgrades in addition to the mobile version. These include greater camera options, bigger views, and even more control options.

One of the biggest concerns for any free-to-play game in particular, one that relies on loot, is how it is monetized. On this front, Heng explained that purchases in Torchlight Infinite are broken down into two categories. Features like more bag space, talent resets, and auto-looting functionality will be what Heng described as "pay-for-convenience." New heroes, along with different cosmetics will be available to purchase and fit under what Heng called "pay-for-content."

Torchlight Infinite will not sell gear or crafting materials for cash, Heng said. These products will "strictly hard-to-find" to ensure fair play for everyone buy diablo 2 resurrected items. Heng declared it is Torchlight Infinite won't have any stamina meter or system that restrict player progress and that players will have the "freedom to begin and stop their grinds as they please."
