In a latest forum put up, Blizzard now says its questioning at the issue has "changed pretty a bit" considering the WOW Classic Gold  ones preliminary interviews.

Blizzard lately mentioned its philosophy with regard to how it's miles approaching changes for Wrath of the Lich King Classic and feasible destiny WoW Classic releases, declaring it intends to defend and nurture social studies, preserve the game approachable and familiar for players, and maintain Azeroth as the sport's genuine "important individual."
