The History of World of Warcraft So FarSee MoreWoW: Wrath Of The Lich King Classic Public Releases September 26th, Bonus XP Event Live Today  WoTLK Gold While it was released last week, the news is officially announced: World of Warcraft : Wrath of the Lich King Classic is releasing September 26.

To commemorate the occasion as well as to help returning players that want to experience the MMO's wildly popular expansion for 2008. Blizzard has enabled a bonus XP event for Burning Crusade Classic servers from now until the launch of the expansion which is dubbed "Joyous Journeys." The buff increases XP growth by 500%, which could go a long way towards helping players build their characters for the day of the expansion's launch.

September 26 could be the day that players finally set foot on Northrend, the brand new world of Northrend and fight an army of Lich King. The expansion's pre patch actually brings the possibility of a limited-time event, new class changes and new Wrath of the Lich King servers for those interested, and the new Death Knight hero class several weeks prior to the release of the expansion. Blizzard hasn't yet provided details on when exactly the pre-patch will come into play or how long the event will last, but those details should be coming soon.

Wrath of the Lich King Classic will play on the final patch of an original release of Wrath of the Lich King although it has some slight changes. There is no automated dungeon finding tool, for starters, and it's still unclear if it will include quest tracking in the initial launch too.

In an official press release, Blizzard confirms that it will offer paid-level 70 character boosters as well as optional cosmetic of items to Wrath of the Lich King Classic, but has not yet provided a specific description of what those items will include. Blizzard made similar announcements with the release of Burning Crusade Classic, offering the digital version for  buy WoTLK Gold $70 that offered a character increase along with a unique mount. It also included 30 days of gaming time, and much more.
