While Ironmace hopes to make Dark and Darker from Devon's blog

Ironmace acknowledges that the Early Access phase will come with some growing pains as many key features are still missing Dark And Darker Gold. The studio is actively working to resolve these issues and plans to add the missing features in the upcoming months. Ironmace also expressed their commitment to transparency with players regarding the leaderboard system and ranking schedules.

While Ironmace hopes to make Dark and Darker Early Access available for download on Steam in the future, they cannot provide a specific timeline for the release. The game was previously available on Valve’s PC storefront, but it was removed after Nexon issued a cease and desist letter and DMCA takedown in March. Nexon accused Ironmace of stealing game assets and development staff to create Dark and Darker, but Ironmace denies these claims.

Players have two purchase options on the Dark and Darker website: the Standard Edition and the Founder’s Edition. The Standard Edition grants access to the full game and its Early Access build, along with five Bluestone Shards. The Founder’s Edition includes everything in the Standard Edition, as well as access to the Skeleton race option, a blue torch skin, a Hold the Line emote, and access to future Dark and Darker tests.

Despite the challenges faced, Ironmace has made Dark and Darker available to dedicated fans who have been eagerly waiting. Players can expect updates and improvements as the game progresses in Early Access.

Dark and Darker Releases Outside of Steam Following Legal Dispute

Dark and Darker, a popular fantasy-themed extraction shooter, is finally releasing today. However, due to an ongoing legal dispute, the game will not be available on Steam. Developer Ironmace, composed of former Nexon developers, has created its own launcher and will sell the game directly through the official Dark and Darker website and the Korean-based game-selling site Chaf Games buying Dark And Darker Gold.
